John Louis Theiler

John Louis Theiler, 70, of Washington, PA, formerly of Brentwood, died Wednesday, December 22, 2010, in the Washington Hospital, following a very brief illness. He was born June 12, 1940, in Pittsburgh, the son of John N. and Mary Kujbus Theiler. John was a renowned artist for 45 years and received numerous awards from galleries all over the world for his miniature oil paintings. He also was an Army veteran, serving from October 22, 1963, until September 22, 1965. Mr. Theiler was awarded five decorations while serving in the Vietnam War as a Medic. Surviving are a brother, Robert (Nori) Theiler of North Strabane Township; two nieces, Carol Pityk (Jerry), Kathy Hartos (Myron) and a nephew, Bill Beaumont. Burial was private and at the convenience of the family. An Art Show in Brentwood is being planned to display and honor his life’s work.
