Megan Elizabeth Caldwell, 3 ½, of Washington, died on December 23, 2010, at Children’s Hospital, Pittsburgh, after a 1-week illness. She had successfully battled leukemia for 2 years. She was born on June 11, 2007, in Washington, a daughter of Robert V., III, and Brenda Lee Crothers Caldwell. She attended Faith United Presbyterian Church. Megan loved Disneyworld and going to the beach with her family. She received the loving support and prayers from so many state and local groups, organizations and churches, which was a huge source of comfort for Megan and her grateful family. Megan was the ribbon cutter, and led the first lap for the American Cancer Society’s 2010 Relay For Life, at Chartiers-Houston High School. She had a strong will, and her positive attitude has been, and will remain, an inspiration to all who knew her. Surviving, in addition to her parents, is a brother, Gregory W. Caldwell; maternal grandmother, Phyllis Horner Crothers; paternal grandfather, Robert V. Caldwell, Jr., and an uncle, Kevin W. Crothers. Deceased is her maternal grandfather, Harry C. Crothers and her paternal grandmother, Sarah Louise McDonald Caldwell. Visitation will be on Sunday, from 7 to 9 and on Monday, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., in the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Ave., Washington, PA, 15301, where services will be held on Tuesday, December 28, 2010, at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow at the Washington Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Children’s Hospital, Pittsburgh, Hematology and Oncology Department, 4401 Penn Avenue Pittsburgh, PA 15224.
