Paul H. Stockdale, 86, of Washington, died on Sunday, December 26, 2010, in the Washington County Health Center.
He was born on May 17, 1924, in Greene County, PA, a son of Hugh and Mabel Wood Stockdale.
Mr. Stockdale had worked as a machinist for Reliance Electric Company.
He was a member of Abundant Life Baptist Church, and a 1943 graduate of Morris Township High School.
Mr. Stockdale was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served in World War II.
He was a member of American Legion Swart-Phillips Post 897 of Glyde, PA., and he enjoyed golf, camping, and working around the house.
On December 14, 1945, he married Helen Elizabeth Meek, who survives.
Also surviving is a son, Gary (Carole) Stockdale, of Charleroi; 2 daughters, Sue Scott and Patty Harmon, both of Washington; 7 grandchildren, Garrett and Russell Stockdale, Matthew Scott, Natalie Wooldridge, Amber Gardner, and Brittany and Courtney Lilly, and 20 great grandchildren.
Friends will be received, Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., in the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, PA 15301, where services will be held on Wednesday, December 29, 2010, at 1:00 p.m., with Rev. George Garancosky officiating.
Burial will follow in the Washington Cemetery.
