Alice Moses Krol

Alice Moses Krol, 92, formerly of Washington, died Friday, January 7, 2011, in Consulate Health Care, Canonsburg. She was born September 23, 1918, in Washington, a daughter of Phillip and Sarah Abraham Moses. For 23 years Mrs. Krol worked at Washington-Greene County Tuberculosis Association, retiring as executive director. She was a member of St. Hilary Roman Catholic Church, where she had served as Cantor, the Quota Club, BPW, and various sororities. Mrs. Krol was an alumna of Washington Hospital School of Nursing. On August 1, 1941, she married Joseph J. Krol, who died October 12, 1975. Surviving are two sons, Rear Admiral Joseph J. Krol, Jr. (Retired) and wife Carolyn of Alexandria, Virginia, and Jack Allen Krol and wife Rebecca of Nt. Nula, North Carolina; two daughters, Judith A. Wiegand and husband Dean of Wake Forest, North Carolina, and Rebecca S. Moses Krol Barnhart and husband Garry of Cranberry Township; four grandchildren, Jordan Christopher Wiegand, Jessica Rachel Wiegand, Brittnay Barnhart and Richard Alan Barnhart; and a great-granddaughter, Kathryn Wiegand. Deceased are a sister, Ruth Moses Latko; and three brothers, Phillip Moses, Abraham Moses and Dr. Jacob Moses. Friends will be received Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where a Blessing Service will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, January 11th, with Father Thomas O’Neil officiating. Burial will follow in Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
