Ernest Ruscello, Sr.

Ernest Ruscello, Sr., 85, of Washington, died Saturday, January 8, 2011, in Allegheny General Hospital. He was born April 2, 1925, in Washington, a son of Vincenzo and Mildred Fragassa Ruscello. Mr. Ruscello owned and operated Ruscello Auto Body Shop for over 40 years. A World War II Veteran, he joined the Army on June 7, 1943, and served until his honorable discharge on December 30, 1945, with rank of Private First Class. Mr. Ruscello was involved in campaigns in Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland, and Central Europe. His awards included a Good Conduct Medal, World War II Victory Medal and European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with four bronze service stars. He was Catholic by faith. Surviving are two sons, Joseph Ruscello of Houston and Isiaih Joseph Ruscello of Washington; a brother, Ralph Ruscello; and a sister, Evelyn Ruscello Beckinger, both of Washington. Deceased are his first wife, Elizabeth M. Rungo Ruscello, who died September 6, 1987; his second wife, Peggy Davis Ruscello, who died June 13, 1999; two sons, Gary Ruscello and Ernest Ruscello, Jr.; three brothers, Louis, James and John Ruscello; and three sisters, Margaret Littleton, Josephine Greco and Ann Ruggerio. There will be no public visitation. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
