Bonnie Lou Hackney, 56, of Washington, died Monday, January 10, 2011, in Donnell House, following a lengthy illness.
She was born January 27, 1954, in Washington, a daughter of the late Raymond Clark Hackney and Evelyn Lucille Wood Hackney.
Ms. Hackney was a graduate of McGuffey High School. She worked at Howard Johnson’s, Day’s Inn, and most recently, Ponderosa.
Ms. Hackney enjoyed baking, arts, crafts, and crocheting, as well as time spent with family. She also enjoyed puppies.
Ms. Hackney was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
Surviving are three brothers, William Hackney, Brian (Lori) Hackney, and Bradley Hackney; and two sisters, Beverly Hackney and Brenda (Donald) Bennett; a son, Michael “Tonka” (Bobbie Jo “Lucy”) Hackney; all of Washington; a grandson, Raymond Hackney; and several nieces and nephews.
She will be sadly missed by two life-long friends, Debbie K. Palmer and Christy Andre.
Friends will be received Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 395 East Maiden Street, Washington, where services will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, January 13th, with Rev. Fred McCloskey officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray.
