Ralph Frank Guzzo, Sr.

Ralph Frank Guzzo, Sr., 87, of Amity, died Tuesday, January 18, 2011, in the Washington Hospital. He was born December 4, 1923, in Arnold, a son of Pasquale and Mary Torchia Guzzo. Mr. Guzzo served in the Navy during World War II. He worked as a plumber with Local 27 and was a self-employed homebuilder. Mr. Guzzo was a member of Edwin Scott Linton American Legion Post 175, L.O.O.M. 22, and VFW. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Church. On August 14, 1954, he married Veronica Soltys, who survives. Also surviving are a son, Ralph Frank Guzzo, Jr., of Washington; two daughters, Maria Kartley of Frederick, Maryland, and Victoria Ritenour of Amity; a sister, Gloria Francis of Columbus, Ohio; four grandchildren, Alina Kartley, Jaclyne Kartley, Krista Guzzo and Lilyanna Ritenour; and two great-grandchildren, Jaidon and Peter. Deceased are a brother, Albert Guzzo; and five sisters, Ruth Tallarico, Anna Rossi, Lucy Tallarico, Minnie Mauro and Angeline Manni. There will be no public visitation or services. Burial in National Cemetery of the Alleghenies will be private and at the convenience of the family. William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., is in charge of arrangements.
