Bernard Lee Mace, 76, of Claysville, died Friday, January 21, 2011, in The Washington Hospital.
He was born May 3, 1934, in Spencer, WV, a son of Romie and Belle Lattae Mace.
Mr. Mace was a machinist at Brockway Glass for thirty years and also worked at Mac Plastic for ten years.
He was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene, where he served on the church’s board, was a member of the Missionary Society, and was a Sunday school teacher.
Mr. Mace enjoyed spending time with his family, was an avid sports fan, and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and golf.
On July 20, 1955, he married Carol Bryner, who survives.
Also surviving are a son, Mark T. (Kim) Mace, of Avella; a daughter, Brenda Solon, of Wooster, Ohio; two sisters, Charlotte Garrison, of Washington, and Elinor Adams, of Georgia; two grandchildren, Joshua (Christine) Mace, of Beaver Falls, and Tiffany Mace, of Avella; two great grandchildren, Blaine and Dustin Mace.
Deceased are four brothers, Donald, Ronald, Hayward and Blaine Mace; and two sisters, Erma Headlley and Merline Lechnick.
Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. Services will be held at the First Church of the Nazarene, at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 25, 2011, with Pastor Joseph Schiren and Pastor Jim Goss co-officiating. Burial will follow in Claysville Cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions to the First Church of the Nazarene’s Missionary Society, 1336 N. Main Street, Washington, PA 15301.
