Joseph F. Goldie, 81, of Washington, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, January 21, 2011, in his residence.
He was born May 1, 1929, in Pittsburgh, a son of Joseph and Marie Goldie.
On June 14, 1951, he entered the U.S. Army and served as a CIC Agent. He was awarded a Good Conduct Medal and was Honorably Discharged on June 13, 1953.
Mr. Goldie was self-employed in a food delivery business.
He loved reading his Bible and sharing his faith in Jesus Christ with others.
On December 1, 1973, he married Beverly Bish Goldie, who survives.
Also surviving are a son, Jared Goldie; a daughter, Aubrey Goldie, both of Washington; and a brother, Wayne Goldie, of Ohio.
Also surviving are children from a previous marriage, Joyce Ambrose, Janice Lamm, Joseph Goldie, James Goldie, and Judith Goldie.
Deceased are a son, Jay Goldie, an infant son, Joel Goldie; and a brother, Bob Goldie.
Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, January 26, 2011, with Rev. Jason Anderson officiating. Burial will follow in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville. Military rites will be accorded by Edwin Scott Linton Post 175 of the American Legion.
