William Paxton Shriver, Jr., 57 of Prosperity, died Monday, January 24, 2011, in his residence, following a lengthy illness.
He was born June 18, 1953, in Washington, a son of Opal Mae Mayne Shriver of Washington and the late William P. Shriver, Sr.
Mr. Shriver attended Triangle Tech for one year and Rick’s College in Idaho for one year. He had worked as a coal miner and truck driver.
Mr. Shriver was a member of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
He enjoyed farming, hunting, and outdoor activities.
Surviving, in addition to his mother, are a daughter, Lindsay Bioni of Prosperity; five grandchildren, Ashley Walker, Caleb Walker, Megan Walker, Grace Bioni and Faith Walker; two aunts, Wilma Crawford and Peg Shriver; an uncle, Don Shriver; and several cousins.
Friends will be received Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m., in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, January 28th. Burial will follow in Prosperity Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, 331 South Main Street, Washington, PA 15301.
