Emanuel Matteo “Randy” Randazzo, 80, of Washington, died unexpectedly, Thursday, January 27, 2011, in the Washington Hospital.
He was born May 7, 1930, in Pittsburgh, a son of Matteo and Agatha Campise Randazzo.
Mr. Randazzo attended Pittsburgh schools before moving to Washington and graduating from Washington High School in 1948. He attended DeForest Training Institute in Chicago for two years for television and radio repair, and Penn State for two years for management
Mr. Randazzo owned Randy’s TV Repair in Washington before going to work at RCA/TacTec, where he worked for 31 years, retiring as quality assurance supervisor. He also worked for five years at Black Box Corporation and at Mac Plastics as a supervisor.
In 1951, Mr. Randazzo joined the Army and served in its Signal Corps. He was discharged in 1953, as a Private First Class, and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal.
On December 24, 1951, he married Mildred Clutter, who survives.
Also surviving are a brother, Anthony Randazzo of Washington; three nieces, Rosalie McClintock, Anita Riley, and Barbara Sarsfield; four nephews, Charles Calderaro, Rocco Sapienza, Matteo Sapienza and Anthony Sapienza; and many great-nieces and great-nephews.
Deceased are four sisters, Ethel Carlino, Margaret Sapienza, Mary Calderaro, and Josephine Randazzo, who died as an infant; a brother, Joseph Randazzo; and a nephew, Peter Paul Sapienza.
Friends will be received Sunday from Noon to 6 p.m., the time of service, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, with Rev. Rick Bruckner officiating. Private burial will be held in Washington Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
