Ross Elliott Richardson, M.D., 82, of Eighty-Four, died Saturday, January 29, 2011, in Presbyterian Senior Care, following a lengthy illness.
He was born November 3, 1928, in Washington, a son of Ross Elliott Richardson, Sr., and Gladys Dague Richardson.
Dr. Richardson was a graduate of Jefferson Medial School and served his residency at Indianapolis General Hospital.
He was an orthopedic doctor for 18 years before working as an emergency department doctor at the Washington Hospital for 18 years.
Dr. Richardson enjoyed country living, hunting, the outdoors, and woodworking.
He was a member of Emmanuel Presbyterian Church.
On August 25, 1957, he married Yvonne Miterko, who survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Jay Elliott (Ocie) Richardson of Eighty-Four and Ross E. (Terri) Richardson, III, of Pittsburgh; a brother, James Elliott Richardson of North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; and six grandchildren, Ricky, Mark, Laura, Jayson, Jesse and Trevor.
Friends will be received Monday from 7 to 9 p.m., and Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m., in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 395 East Maiden Street, Washington, where services will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, February 2nd, with Rev. Peggy Shannon officiating. Burial will follow in Emmanuel Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
