Benjamin Dale Temple

Benjamin Dale Temple, 66, of Hickory, died Saturday, February 5, 2011, in his home. He was born January 21, 1945, in Rea, a son of Elizabeth Temple of Hickory and the late Benjamin F. Temple. Mr. Temple was a 1962 graduate of Fort Cherry High School. He was employed at Drakenfeld as a production operator and retired in September 2005 as pigments quality control manager of Ferro, after 41 years of service. Mr. Temple was a member of Hickory United Presbyterian Church, where he served as deacon, clerk of sessions, was on the dartball team and delivered Meals on Wheels. He also was a member of Indian Springs Rod and Gun Club. He enjoyed gardening, hunting and raising and training Beagles along with coaching youth baseball and watching his son play sports. On August 12, 1966, he married Elsie Irene Stewart, who survives. Also surviving, in addition to his wife and mother, are a son, Brian Dale (Sommer) Temple of Hickory, and a grandson, Colton Benjamin Temple. Deceased, in addition to his father, are two brothers, Darrell, and an infant brother, David Temple. Visitation will be held from 3 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. Additional visitation will be from 9:30 till 11 a.m., the time of service, Wednesday, February 9, in Hickory United Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Douglas Reinard and the Rev. Keith Horning officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Prospect Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Hickory United Presbyterian Church, 210 Main Street, P.O. Box 97, Hickory, PA 15340.
