Katherine H. Ullom, 94, of Washington, died Monday, February 21, 2011, at 7:30 p.m., in Manor Care, McMurray, with her daughters by her side.
She was born August 1, 1916, in St., Mary’s, Maryland, a daughter of Joseph and Mary Kampon Holiskey.
Mrs. Ullom retired as floor supervisor at G.C. Murphy Company in 1968. She also worked at the Duncan Miller Defense plant from 1940 to 1946, and, for 60 years, as a waitress at Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 22, retiring at age 90.
In September 1937, she married John L. Ullom, who died August 28, 1966.
Mrs. Ullom was a member of Immaculate Conception Church and belonged to the Women of the Moose, Chapter 318, for 68 years, as well as Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW.
Surviving are two daughters, Mary Edna (Dave) Worobec of Washington, and Dottie (Sam) Desmond of Washington, with whom she made her home; seven grandchildren, Lynn (Paul) Kulla of Washington, David Worobec, Jr., of Bangor; Kathy Jo Morris of Washington, Kim Chadwick of Canonsburg, Derek (Tracy) Desmond of Claysville; Mary Beth (Frank) Craig of Avella and Sam Desmond, III, of Washington; 22 great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was the last of her immediate family. Deceased are four sisters, Mary Swartzvager, Tina Cruz, Annie Winters, and Josephine Street; and a brother, Stephan Holiskey.
There will be no public visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Saturday, February 26th, in Immaculate Conception Church, Washington. Entombment will follow in St. James Mausoleum in Immaculate Conception Church Cemetery.
