Louise E. “Nan Nan” Jinkens, age 91, of Washington, died on Friday, February 25, 2011, at the Donnell House, hospice care facility.
She was born on July 17, 1919, in Washington, a daughter of the late Chester Smith and Anna Schwering.
Mrs. Jinkens was a devoted wife, homemaker, and loved life on the farm, and caring for others. Her kids, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the joy of her life.
In 1935, she married Robert Vere Jinkens, who died in 1973. A daughter, Marjorie A. Poland and 2 brothers, Arthur Smith and Abe Higgenbotham, also preceded her in death.
Surviving are a son, R. Edward (Connie) Jinkens, of Claysville, a daughter, Roberta L. Curry, of Washington, 2 brothers, Carey Higgenbotham, of California and Hugh Smith, of Kentucky, 8 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and several great great grandchildren.
Friends will be received on Monday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m., the time of service, in the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, PA 15301, with Mark A. Richards officiating.
