Albert Michael Jesse

Albert Michael Jesse, 65, of Burgettstown, PA., died on Saturday, March 19, 2011, in his residence, after a brief illness. He was born on October 1, 1945, in Pittsburgh, a son of Ernest and Elizabeth Dauk Jesse. On June 16, 1964, Mr. Jesse enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, where he served until his honorable discharge, as a Sergeant, on February 19, 1970. For his service, he was awarded the Purple Heart, the Naval Unit Citation, Vietnamese Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Presidential Unit Citation, and a Letter of Commendation. He had worked as a union laborer for P.J. Dick and Trumbull Corporations for 35 years, doing highway construction. He was a member, and served as an Elder, at the Paris Presbyterian Church in Burgettstown. Mr. Jesse was a member of the Slovan VFW and the Anawanna Hunting & Fishing Club. He enjoyed building, hunting and fishing, woodworking, games, animals, and most especially, spending time with his grandson, Alex. On June 7, 1968, he married Mary Ann Crouse, who survives. Also surviving are a son, Michael J. (Gayle) Jesse, of Hickory; a brother, Edward (Jacqueline) Jesse, of Bolivar, OH, a sister, Margaret (Edwin) Ellis, of Florida, a grandson, Alex Jesse, and numerous nieces and nephews. Deceased is a son, Charles Wilson Jesse. Friends will be received on Wednesday, from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m., in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Ave., Washington, PA 15301. Services will be held on Thursday, March 24, 2011, at 11:00 a.m., in the Paris Presbyterian Church, 127 Steubenville Pike, Burgettstown, PA 15021, with the Rev. Dr. Christina Hosler officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, The Gulf Tower, 707 Grant Street, 37th Floor, Pittsburgh, PA 15219-1916.
