Vyiona Williford, 82, of Houston, died Tuesday, March 22, 2011, in her residence, following a lengthy illness.
She was born December 7, 1928, in Cokeburg, a daughter of Thomas M. and Sarah Jane Deneen Campbell.
Mrs. Williford was a graduate of Burgettstown High School and Mercy Hospital School of Nursing.
She was a member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church in Canonsburg and the Ladies Auxiliary of American Legion Edwin Scott Linton Post 175, and was president of Gold Star Mothers of Washington County.
On June 24, 1965, she married Donald Williford, who survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Sandra Howard of Beach Lake and Susan (William) Darnley of Washington; a brother, Archibald Campbell of Wheeling, West Virginia; three grandchildren, William Howard, Mark Howard and Bobby Ruff; and five great-grandchildren, Cody Ruff, Caitlin Miller, Zander Miller, Faith Howard and Zaack Howard.
Deceased are a son, Robert Sikon; a daughter, Margaret Webster; two brothers, George and Thomas Campbell; five sisters, Louise McAnny, Laura Haradil, Martha Gallo, Sarah Holland and Mary Anna Campbell; and a granddaughter, Tonya Miller.
Friends will be received Thursday and Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where a Blessing Service will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, March 26th, with Father Jack Bateykefer officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Spring Cemetery, Canonsburg. Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, 331 South Main Street, Washington, PA 15301.
