Thomas Jay Martin, Sr., 39, of Monongahela, died Monday, March 21, 2011, in UPMC – Presbyterian Hospital, with his family by his side, following a brief illness.
He was born July 10, 1971, in Washington.
Mr. Martin worked for Seman’s Flooring as a floor installer. He enjoyed watching sports with family and friends and was a huge fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and NASCAR.
Surviving are his father, Donald E. Martin, Sr., and stepmother, Celine A. Martin of Dormont; his mother, Sandy Bogochenko, and stepfather, Tom Bogochenko, of Bentleyville; his beloved fiancée, Rita Ziemba of Monongahela; six children, Thomas Jay “T.J.” Martin, Jr. and Tina Ziemba, both of Monongahela, plus four other children; and a grandson, Skylar.
Also surviving are siblings, James Miller of Washington, Wendy (Joseph) Ayre of Avella, Addie Jones of McDonald, Donald (Mildred) Martin Jr., of Avella, Timothy Martin of Washington, Kristen and Justin Martin, of Dormont; and three step sisters, Pam Thomas, Tracy and Mary Bogochenko; several nieces and nephews, James, Joseph Jr., Cassandra, Misty, Donald III, Jonathan, Starr, Elizabeth, Asha, Candice, Rachel, Shelby, Richard and Alyshia; two great nephews; one great niece; and several aunts and uncles.
Friends will be received Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., the time of service, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Ave., Washington, with Rev. Sarah Robbins officiating.
