Frank E. Britko, 80, of Washington, died on Wednesday, March 23, 2011, in the Donnell House, after a brief illness.
He was born on April 5, 1930, in Marianna, a son of Ernest and Julianna Stas Britko.
Mr. Britko entered the U.S. Marines on November 15, 1951, where he served until his honorable discharge as a Corporal, on November 3, 1953. For his service, he was awarded the Korean Service Medal with 2 stars, United Nations Service Medal and the National Defense Service Medal.
He had worked for Washington Steel Corporation for 16 years, at the Washington location as shipping foreman, and for 15 years at the Houston location as casting foreman.
Mr. Britko was a member of the Laboratory Presbyterian Church, a lifetime member of the Washington Elks Lodge #776 and also the Edwin Scott Linton Post #175 of the American Legion. He was also a member of the Arms Club, S.O.A.R., the National Pike Steam, Gas & Horse Association, and a former member of the Beagle Club.
He enjoyed gardening, hunting and traveling.
On October 16, 1954, he married Linda Crile, who survives.
Also surviving are 2 sons, Doug (Patricia) Britko, of Jamestown, NY and Eric Britko, of Ventnor, NJ; a brother, Edwin Britko, of LaGrange, KY; a grandson, Jeremy, and 5 granddaughters.
Deceased are 3 brothers and 4 sisters.
Friends will be received on Thursday, from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., in the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Ave., Washington, PA 15301, where services will be held on Saturday, March 26, 2011, at 1:00 p.m.
Burial will follow at Bethlehem Lutheran Church Cemetery.
Full Military Rites will be accorded graveside by the Edwin Scott Linton Post #175 of the American Legion.
