La Gene Marilyn Morris, 80, of Washington, died Thursday, April 21, 2011, in Southmont of Presbyterian Senior Care, following a lengthy illness.
She was born November 17, 1930, in Washington, a daughter of Hamilton and Mary Wick Day.
Mrs. Morris was a graduate of Washington High School and worked in the dietary department of The Washington Hospital for 31 years.
She was an accomplished pianist who enjoyed music and dancing as well as cooking, yoga, traveling and entertaining family and friends.
Mrs. Morris was a member of Church of the Covenant.
In 1948, she married Alfred W. (Pete) Morris, who survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Timothy (Debbie) Morris of Canonsburg and Rodney Morris of Washington; and a brother, Leland T. Day of North Carolina.
Deceased is sister, Marjorie Walter.
Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and Noon to 1:30 p.m., the time of service, Wednesday, April 27th, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery.
