Emily Ruth Mcgavitt

Emily Ruth McGavitt, 73, of Claysville, died on Friday, April 29, 2011 at the Washington County Health Center. She was born on April 29, 1938, in Washington, a daughter of the late Frank J. and Ruth Wise Martin. Mrs. McGavitt was a 1957 graduate of Washington High School and attended Zion Church. She had worked as a cashier for Auto Supermarket, and enjoyed reading, crocheting and gardening. On July 11, 1985, she married James George McGavitt, who survives. Also surviving are 2 sons - Robert and Gary Clark, both of Washington; and 5 grandchildren. Deceased, in addition to her parents, is a brother, Donald F. Martin. Friends will be received on Monday, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Ave., Washington, PA. 15301, where services will be held on Tuesday, May 3, 2011, at 11:00 a.m., with Pastor Rico Vespa officiating. Burial will follow in Mon Valley Memorial Park, Donora, PA.
