Marcelete Lenhart Shearn

Marcelete Lenhart Shearn, 86, of Washington, passed away Monday, May, 2, 2011, in her residence, surrounded by her family. She was born October 13, 1924, in Washington, a daughter of John Franklin Lenhart and Benetta Sutton Lenhart. Mrs. Shearn graduated from Washington High School and was a homemaker. She was a 75-year member of West Washington United Methodist Church and a member of the Elks and their card club. Mrs. Shearn enjoyed traveling and spending time with her nephews attending sporting events. On August 6, 1961, she married Paul S. Shearn, who died March 2, 1989. Surviving are a nephew, Larry (Sue) Lenhart of Washington and Connie (Mike) Cain of Washington; seven great-nieces and great-nephews, Stacey (Eric) Miles of Washington, Joseph (Shannon) Lenhart, of St. Louis, Missouri, Sherry Lenhart, Michele (Don) Nutter, Christopher (Lori) Cain, Stephan Cain and Matthew (Terene) all of Washington; 27 great-great- nieces and nephews; and a sister-in-law, Jane Lenhart of Houston. Deceased is a brother, John Franklin Lenhart, Jr. Friends will be received Saturday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 1 p.m., Monday, May 9th, with Rev. John Hoffman officiating. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery.
