Lois Ewing Barlow, 87, of Washington, died Thursday, May 12, 2011 in Townview Health and Rehabilitation.
She was born September 9, 1923, in Richhill Township, Greene County, a daughter of Hollis and Bertha J. Crow Ewing.
Mrs. Barlow was a high school graduate and attended Penn Commercial. She worked in the personnel department at Jessop Steel.
She enjoyed playing bingo, reading, gardening, traveling, watching the Steelers and Penguins, and especially spending time with her grandchildren.
Mrs. Barlow was a member of Bethel United Presbyterian Church, Prosperity, and Lagonda Homemakers and was a former member of Ladies Auxiliary of South Franklin VFD.
On December 26, 1946, she married John William Barlow, who died April 18, 1999.
Surviving are a son, John W. (Vivian) Barlow of Wellsburg, West Virginia; two daughters, L. Darlene Simpson and Deborah L. (Walt) Mills, both of Washington; four grandchildren, Matthew (Erin) Simpson, Sarah Barlow, Andrew (Jennifer) Simpson, and John W. (Hannah) Barlow.
Deceased is a sister, Virginia Ruttenburg.
Friends will be received Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, May 16th, with Rev. Joshua Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery.
