David James Miles 61, of Washington, died Friday, May 13, 2011, in Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh, with his family at his side.
He was born July 8, 1950, in Washington, a son of Robert and Margaret Langland Miles.
Mr. Miles worked as an equipment operator at Western Center for 25 years.
He was a member of the Arden and Slovak Clubs and enjoyed the outdoors, sports, and spending time with family.
Mr. Miles enlisted in the Army on November 10, 1969, and served until his honorable discharge on November 1, 1971, with a rank of Specialist, 5th class. He earned the National Defense Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal and was an M-14 Marksman and M-16 Sharpshooter.
Mr. Miles was Catholic by faith.
Surviving are two sons, Chris Miles of Washington and Jeff Miles of Cecil; a daughter, Megan Miles of Washington; one brother, Robert Miles, Jr.; and his former wife, Patricia Miles of Washington.
Deceased is a brother, John Miles.
Friends will be received Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., the time of service, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, 925 Allison Avenue, Washington.
