Rose A. Bunner, 79, of Washington, died Thursday, May 19, 2011, in Donnell House, following a lengthy illness.
She was born December 3, 1931, in Meadowlands, a daughter of John and Anna Macannan Piasente.
She was an honors graduate, graduating from Chartiers High School in 1949, and also attended Penn Commercial for a year and a half.
Mrs. Bunner was a bookkeeper for twenty years at R.G. Johnson Company, retiring in 1995, and previously worked at Washington Engineering and Construction Company for twenty-five years.
She was an avid bowler and enjoyed bowling in the Senior Citizens Bowling league, enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and sewing.
Mrs. Bunner was a member of Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church.
On July 26, 1952, she married Louis F. Bunner, who survives.
Also surviving are a son, Patrick L. (Lynda) Bunner, of Lone Pine; three grandchildren, Brian, Branden, and Brent; and five great grandchildren.
Deceased are two sisters, Alma Frye and Henrietta Spencer; and a brother, Anthony Piasente.
Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Sunday, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Monday, May 23, 2011, in Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, with Father William Feeney as celebrant. Entombment will follow in Washington Cemetery Mausoleum. The family suggests memorial contributions to Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, 119 W.
