Stephen A. Stimpson, 58, of Washington, passed away Friday, May 27, 2011 in the Donnell House, following a brief illness.
He was born July 26, 1952, in Williamsport, a son of Mildred Stroup Stimpson, of Washington, and the late Howard Stimpson, Sr.
Mr. Stimpson had worked at Greif Brothers and in the construction field.
He was a member of Veterans of Foreign War Post 927 and the Slovak Club, both in Washington.
Mr. Stimpson enjoyed spending time with family and friends, fishing, camping and watching television.
He was Protestant by faith.
Surviving in addition to his mother, are a son, Stephen “Tuggy” Stimpson, Jr., of West Alexander, a brother, Howard (Linda) Stimpson, Jr., of Washington; a sister, Linda (Alberto) Reyes, of Texas; three grandsons, Hunter Stimpson, Presten Stewart, and Dax Stimpson, all of Washington; a granddaughter, Madesyn Goroncy, of Daisytown; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased, in addition to his father, are a son, David D. Comer, and his grandparents.
Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., the hour of service, Tuesday, May 31, 2011, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, with Pastor Linda Mankey officiating.
