Steve Lawrence Paluda

Steve Lawrence Paluda, 83, of Washington, died Saturday, June 4, 2011, in Washington County Health Center. He was born January 14, 1928, in Ontario, PA, a son of George and Louise Paluda. Mr. Paluda graduated from Trinity High School in 1945. He first worked at Hazel Atlas while in high school, and later worked for Trinity School District as a custodian for thirty years, starting at Hayes Avenue School and later at Trinity High School. He loved baseball and especially enjoyed watching his sons and grandsons play all sports, and enjoyed reading, music, and solving puzzles. On October 29, 1949, he married Virginia June Knox, who died August 15, 2000. Surviving are three sons, Stephen T. (Debbie) Paluda, and Daniel P. (Samantha) Paluda, both of Washington, and David B. (Franny) Paluda, of Houston; a daughter, Sandra P. (Bob) Reck, of Washington; two sisters, Alice Syrek and Elaine (Paul) Belcastro, both of Washington; and ten grandchildren, Jennifer Paluda, Brian (Pam) Paluda, Jason (Johanna) Paluda, Patrick and Jeremy Reck, Ryan, Michael, and Maria Paluda, and Stephanie and Laura “Lizzy” Paluda; and four grandchildren, Asia Joy, Kaya June, Brendan, and Devin; a daughter-in-law, Joyce Paluda. Deceased are a son, George L. “Larry” Paluda, five brothers, Robert, George, Bill, John and Joseph Paluda; and four sisters, Anne Graham, Peggy Murray, Louise Dobos, and Joan Yosinsky. There will be no visitation or services. The family suggests memorial contributions to Citizens Library, 55 S.
