Beverly Susan Mitchell

Beverly Susan Mitchell, 82, of Washington, died Thursday, June 9, 2011, in Southmont of Presbyterian Senior Care. She was born September 26, 1928, In Winchester, Indiana, a daughter of Clyde K. and Gertrude C. Boyd Wilson. Mrs. Mitchell attended Washington High School and was a homemaker. Mrs. Mitchell was a member of the Jefferson Avenue United Methodist Church, Edwin Scott Linton Post 175 of the American Legion Auxiliary, and a former member of Washington Hospital Auxiliary. She loved sports, especially the Steelers and Penguins, and for many years was an avid bowler. On January 29, 1947, she married James L. Mitchell, who died November 12, 1999. Surviving are a son, David James Mitchell, and wife Christie, of Washington; a daughter, Tammi Sue Szaronos, of Anthem, AZ; and a grandson, Justin David Mitchell. Deceased are 2 sisters, Martha Byrne and Betty Jane Wilson. Friends will be received on Friday, from 6 to 8 p.m., and Saturday, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., the time of service, in the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Ave., Washington, PA, with Rev. Thomas Bellhy officiating. Burial will follow in the Washington Cemetery.
