Helena Pauline Rasel, 77, of Amwell Township, died Thursday, June 9, 2011, in Southmont of Presbyterian Senior Care.
She was born May 20, 1934, in Garrett County, Maryland, a daughter of Harold and Hazel Ryman Hetrick.
Mrs. Rasel graduated from high school in Grantsville, Maryland. She was a homemaker who enjoyed playing bingo and cards, shopping, and solving crossword puzzles. Mrs. Rasel was a life member of the Arms Club and a member of Washington Eastern Star and the Auxiliary of American Legion Edwin Scott Linton Post 175 .
She was Methodist by faith.
On October 5, 1978, she married Harry A. Rasel, who survives.
Also surviving are three daughters Debra Lynne (Randy) Wagers, Vicki Diane (Gary) Rush, and Tamara Joan (Bill) Johnson, all of Washington; four brothers, Garry (Denise) Hetrick, Marvin (Trudy) Hetrick, Robert (Mary) Hetrick and Glenn (Janet) Hetrick; a sister, Kathy (Tom) McCLintock; six grandchildren, Michelle, Randy Jr., Steven, Kelli, Herb and April; and four great-grandchildren, Myranda, Kourtney, Max and Gavin.
Deceased are a daughter, Kimberly Brown; and a sister, Marlene Weimer.
Friends will be received Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Monday, June 13th, with Rev. John Hoffman officiating. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery.
