Virginia "Ginny" Harris

Virginia A. “Ginny” Harris, 73, of Chartiers Township, died Tuesday, June 14, 2011, in the Washington Hospital, following a brief illness. She was born October 10, 1937, in Cranston, Rhode Island, a daughter of Leah Alford and Henry Durnan. Mrs. Harris worked at LaForge Casino in Newport, Rhode Island, the US Naval Station in Londonderry, Northern Ireland, the hobby shop at the Naval Station in Mayport, Florida, and at Nostalgic Reflections in Claysville. On January 12, 1970, she married Guy Harris, who survives. Also surviving are two sons, William (Sue) McLaughlin of Washington and Guy William (Melinda) Harris of Claysville; three daughters, Karen (Jerry) Kiskadden of Amity, Kellie (Pat) Orlosky of Washington and Kathie (Jim) Sims of Tyrone; 16 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Deceased is a son, Michael Harris. Friends will be received Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. There will be no public funeral service. Memorial contributions may be made to Washington Area Humane Society, PO Box 66, Eighty-Four, PA 15330.
