Beryl Stroud McAlister, 90, of Washington, died Sunday, July 10, 2011.
She was born August 23, 1920, in Fallowfield Township, a daughter of Charles and Louie Feuster Stroud.
Mrs. McAlister retired from Bell Telephone, where she worked as an operator for more than 40 years in the Charleroi and Greensburg offices. She also worked for Cowieson Funeral Home and William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd.
Mrs. McAlister was a member of Beallsville United Methodist Church and Bell Telephone Pioneers.
Surviving are two sons, James A. (Linda) McAlister of Export and Dennis M. (Barb) McAlister of Washington; a daughter Dorothy L. (John) Lovat of Scenery Hill; six grandchildren, Holly, Heather, Erin, Brianne, Brandi and Doug; and two great-grandchildren, Ethan and Brooke.
Deceased is a sister, Dorothy Bowden.
Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, July 14th, with Pastor Gary Gregg officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Creek Cemetery.
