Gordon Edward Miller

Gordon Edward Miller, 58, of Washington, died on Saturday, July 30, 2011, in the Donnell House. He had been in declining health. He was born on September 14, 1952, a son of the late John L. and Roberta Malarkey Miller. Mr. Miller was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He had worked as a welder at Washington Mould Co., and more recently at Hankinson International. He was Christian by faith. Mr. Miller was a graduate of Avella High School. A huge fan of all Pittsburgh sports, he coached children’s sports, including Pancake Football and Amity Baseball. He also enjoyed fishing and hunting. On June 4, 1973, he married Carla Pryor, who survives. Also surviving are 3 sons, Michael (Ashley) Miller; Gordon (Renee) Miller, Jr.; and Erick (Irene) Zimmerman, all of Washington; a daughter, Valerie Miller, of Washington; 2 brothers, John (Doris) Miller, Jr. and Bernard (Karen) Miller, both of Washington; 4 sisters, Barbara Jewer, of Tewksbury, MA; Beverly (John) Godsey, of Murfreesboro, TN; Deborah (Tom) Coneby, of Houston and Pam Miller, of Butte, MT; and 3 grandchildren, Tyler McKinney, Dylan Miller and Peyton Miller. Deceased is a grandson, Cody Carl Miller. Friends will be received on Monday, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., in the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd. 925 Allison Ave., Washington, PA 15301, where services will be held on Tuesday, August 2, 2011, at 1:30 p.m., with Pastor Linda Mankey officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray, PA. Military Rites will be accorded graveside, by the Edwin Scott Linton Post 175 of the American Legion. Memorial contributions may be made to the family in care of the funeral home.
