William Leslie Britt, Sr., 54, of Canonsburg, died on Tuesday, August 2, 2011, in his residence.
He was born on December 16, 1956, in Canonsburg, a son of Beverly Cross, of Rock Hill, SC, and the late Kenith Carroll Britt.
Mr. Britt attended Santa Rosa High School, California.
He had been self-employed for 25 years, doing painting, wallpaper and construction. Then more recently, he had worked in security at the Meadows Casino and Racetrack.
He enjoyed spending time with his children, as well as reading and history.
On August 20, 1983, he married his best friend, Paula Kay Bieda, who survives.
Also surviving, in addition to his mother, are his stepparents, Janet and Ed Blair, of Okeechobee, FL; 4 sons, Paul Britt, at home, Ken (Jess) Britt, of Springfield, OH, Christopher Britt, of Washington, and William Britt, Jr., of Carmichaels; 3 daughters, Tiffany Britt, of Statesville, NC, Mikelyn Britt, at home, and Valerie (Jordan) Schrader, of Meadowlands; 6 grandchildren, Benjamin, Isabella and Zachary Schrader, and Julianna, Felicity and Laura Britt; and several brothers and sisters.
Mr. Britt’s wishes were to have his body donated to the Humanity Gifts Registry Program.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 6, 2011, at 3:00 p.m., in the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd. 925 Allison Ave., 925 Allison Ave., Washington, PA 15301, with Pastor Joe DiDonato officiating.
