Gone to be with her Lord. Amy Jayne Bryant, 99, of Washington, died on Tuesday, August 2, 2011, at Southmont of Presbyterian Senior Care. She was born on August 25, 1911, in Washington, a daughter of John Newton and Minnie Carter Wright. A graduate of Washington High School, she was a homemaker, and had also worked at the Washington Hospital as a secretary, in the cardiac care unit, for 15 years. Mrs. Bryant was a charter member of Abundant Life Baptist Church, she was also a member of Allison Ave Baptist Church. She was very active in church activities. Mrs. Bryant loved and was dedicated to her family. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, sewing and baking. In 1932, she married J.C. Lester Bryant, Sr., who is deceased. Surviving are a son, J.C. Lester (June) Bryant, Jr., of Glen Riddle, PA, a daughter, Joan Steratore, of Uniontown; 9 grandchildren, Anthony Steratore, Stuart Bryant, Mary Reiss, Neil Bryant, Gene Steratore, Elizabeth Steratore, Joani Lynn Steratore, Kristen Campbell and Michael Steratore, and 15 great grandchildren. Deceased are all of her siblings. Friends will be received on Thursday, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., in the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Ave., Washington, PA 15301. There will be additional visitation on Friday, August 5, 2011, in the Abundant Life Baptist Church, 269 Cameron Road, Washington, PA, from 10 to 11 a.m., the time of services, with Rev. George Garancosky officiating. Burial will follow in the Washington Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Abundant Life Baptist Church, 269 Cameron Rd., Washington, PA 15301.
