John Robert “Jack” Taylor, 74, of Canonsburg, died Sunday, August 14, 2011, in the Donnell House.
He was born June 21, 1937, in Pittsburgh, a son of John Prichard and Clarinda Campbell Taylor.
Mr. Taylor was a graduate of Carrick High School and graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a Bachelor’s degree.
Mr. Taylor was a foreman at Blooming Mill in the Southside, and had worked at J&L Steel and LTV Steel.
An athlete when he was younger, he participated in swimming, track, football and basketball, and had played semi-pro football for the Pittsburgh Ironmen.
He was Methodist by faith.
In 1957, he married Jeanne Mc Gann, who died February 2, 2011.
Surviving are two daughters, Sherrie (Gene) Leach, of Washington, and Linda Taylor, of Canonsburg; and his grandson, Michael Taylor Leach, who was “his pride and joy”.
Deceased is a son, John Taylor.
At the request of the deceased, there will be no visitation or services. The family suggests memorial contributions to the Donnell House, c/o Hospice Care of The Washington Hospital, 155 Wilson Avenue, Washington, PA 15301.
