James A. White, 79, of Hickory, died Tuesday, August 30, 2011, in the Donnell House.
He was born March 24, 1932, in Washington, a son of Harry and Eltha McCalmont White.
Mr. White was a self-employed dairy farmer, owning White Brothers’ Farm with his brother, Harry “Mac.”
He was a member of Hickory United Presbyterian Church and was on the board of Mt. Prospect Cemetery.
Mr. White enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and was a fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers.
On April 23, 1960, he married Forda Reagan, who survives.
Also surviving are a son, J. Dennis White of Hickory; two daughters, Linda (Peter) Hicks of Texas and Mary Beth (Greg) White of Canonsburg; and five grandchildren, Allison and Amanda White, Jordan, Evan and Tristan Hicks.
Deceased are two brothers, Robert and Harry “Mac” White.
Friends will be received Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, September 3rd, in Hickory United Presbyterian Church, with Rev. R. Douglas Reinard officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Prospect Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Donnell House, Hospice Care of the Washington Hospital, 155 Wilson Avenue, Washington, PA 15301; or to Hickory United Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund, 210 Main Street, Hickory, PA 15340.
