Russell Clark Staley, Jr., 75, of Washington, died Thursday, September 8, 2011, in his residence, following a courageous battle with various health issues.
He was born July 31, 1936, in West Pike Run, a son of Russell Clark Staley, Sr. and Janet Hartley Staley.
Mr. Staley was a veteran of the Army. He worked as a bus operator for California Bus Lines and Suburban Bus Lines and retired from Port Authority of Allegheny County, retiring after 28 years of service.
Mr. Staley was a member of Amalgamated Transit Union. He loved his family and enjoyed swimming with his grandchildren. He also enjoyed attending Washington Wild Things baseball games and was a NASCAR and Dale Earnhardt fan.
Mr. Staley was Protestant.
On February 19, 1966, he married Madge McClain, who survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Susan (Michael) Gural and Kimberly (Jay) Chadwick, both of Washington; a brother, David A. McClelland; four sisters, Barbara Jones of Uniontown, Brenda Brown of Daisytown, and Janet Roberts and Karen Fowler, both of California, PA; five grandchildren, Joshua Clark Gural, twins, Bradley Michael and Christopher John Gural, Alexis Lane Chadwick and Alexander Jay Chadwick.
Friends will be received Sunday from Noon to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, September 12, with Pastor Linda Mankey officiating.
