Marcella (Jean) Flinn Gamber, formerly of Nevada Street, Washington, died at 1:25 p.m., Monday, September 12, 2011, in Washington Hospital.
She was born July 19, 1921, in Washington, a daughter of the late Katherine and John William Flinn.
Jean graduated from Washington High School and was a life-long member of St. Hilary Church.
She had resided at Humbert Lane Personal Care Home since 2007.
Jean will be greatly missed by her therapy dog, Jake.
On June 5, 1946, she was united in marriage with Charles W. Gamber, who died in 1989.
Surviving are a sister, Eileen Richardson and brother-in-law Bill; a brother-in-law William McCrerey; nieces and nephews, Eileen (Rich) Churchel, Barb (Terry) McCullough, Bob (Kate) Ullom, Patrick (Peggy) McCrerey, Mimi Gafric, Darla Efaw, Cathy (Steve) Linton and Bill Kline; and several great nieces and great nephews.
Deceased are a brother, John E. Flinn; and five sisters, Catherine Cox, Dolores Kline, Anna Mae McCrerey, Margaret Flinn and Rita Eimer.
Friends will be received Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Friday, September 16th, in St. Hilary Church, with Father Thomas D. O’Neil as celebrant. Burial will follow in Queen of Heaven Cemetery, McMurray.
Memorial contributions may be made to Humbert Lane Personal Care Home, Activities Department, where Jean spent many enjoyable hours.
