Nellie Mae Luellen

Former G.C. Murphy clerk, VFW auxiliary member. Nellie Mae Luellen, 87, of Washington, died Wednesday, September 14, 2011, in her home. She had been in declining health. She was born August 19, 1924, in Washington, a daughter of Grant and Esther McKahn Moore. For more than 20 years, she was a clerk for G.C. Murphy. Mrs. Luellen was a member of the auxiliary of Veterans of Foreign Wars and Washington Senior Citizens Center. She was married to Clyde Luellen, who died in 1966. Surviving are a son, Henry Leroy Luellen of Washington; a brother, Donald Moore of Bridgeville; three grandchildren, Henry Luellen Jr., Gloria Dee Luellen and Robert Luellen Sr.; and 11 great-grandchildren. Deceased are a brother, Grant E. Moore Jr.; a sister, Grace Naylor; and a daughter-in-law, Rosemary Vance Luellen. Friends will be received from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday and 1 to 3 p.m., the hour of service, Sunday, September 18, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 395 East Maiden Street, Washington. A private burial in Washington Cemetery will be held at a later date.
