Rose Marie Smith

Rose Marie Smith, 89, of Claysville, died on Wednesday, September 21, 2011, in the Greenery Specialty Care Center, in Canonsburg, after a lengthy illness. She was born on October 31, 1921, in Carnegie, a daughter of Frank and Leatha Jester O’Bryan. Mrs. Smith had worked in the kitchen at a private catholic school. She enjoyed reading and bingo. On July 3, 1941, she married George K. Smith, who died in 1990. Surviving are a brother, Bernard O’Bryan, of Canonsburg; 3 sisters, Cora O’Bryan and Nellie Bartolotto, both of Washington, and Cora Jean Hoover, of Murrells Inlet,S.C.; a brother-in-law, Robert Sparks, of Washington; 8 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Deceased are 2 sons, Patrick D. Smith and William Franklin Smith; and a sister, Dora Sparks. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 1, 2011, at 3:00 p.m., in Claysville Christian Church, 135 Church St., Claysville, PA.
