Joann Razvoza Smith Brown

JoAnn Razvoza Smith “Toots” Brown, 74, of Washington, died Thursday, September 29, 2011, in her residence. She was born March 2, 1937, in Washington, a daughter of Andrew Smith and Antionette Razvoza Smith. Mrs. Brown was a graduate of Trinity High School. She worked as a packer at Tygart Valley and Metro-Ball Glass, and also as a cafeteria worker for Trinity Area School District for 3 years. Mrs. Brown was a member of Miraculous Medal Church and its Christian Mothers. She was also a member of Ladies of the Elks and the Bears Club Dart Ball and Bowling Leagues. She bowled at the Jefferson Lanes every Wednesday afternoon. Mrs. Brown was a Democratic Committee Woman for 16 years, a cheerleading advisor at the former Windsor Elementary School, Webelos Boy Scout leader, Brownie leader and Girl Scout leader. She volunteered at the YWCA In and Out Shop and Washington Area Humane Society, where she served as Treasurer of the Auxiliary for four years. On June 16, 1956, she married Frank Elmer “Bruiser” Brown, Jr., who died October 3, 2005. Surviving are two daughters, Linda Lee Brown Amon of Washington and Paula Brown (Matthew) Davey of Washington; six grandchildren, Frank A. Brown, Jr., Corey Kenneth Brown, Cara Jo Brown, Ryan Matthew Davey, Kathleen Noelle Davey, and Morgan Victoria Davey. Deceased are a son, Frank A. Brown, Sr.; a grandson, Douglas Brian Amon, Jr.; and a brother, Richard Razvoza. Friends will be received Monday from 5 to 9 p.m. in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Tuesday, October 4th,in Miraculous Medal Church, 300 Pike Street, Meadowlands, with Father Carmen D’Amico, as celebrant. She will be interred in Queen of Heaven Cemetery beside her husband and son. Christian Mothers will recite the rosary at 7 p.m. Monday in the funeral home.
