Sarah M. Lilley, 79, of Claysville, died on Thursday, October 6, 2011, in her daughter’s residence in West Virginia, following a lengthy illness. She was born on September 16, 1932, in Short Creek, WV, a daughter of the late Lee Roy and Beulah Mae Toland Davis.
She had worked as a short order cook at the Exit 3 Truck Stop for 2 years as well as the Washington Laundry for 2 years.
Mrs. Lilley enjoyed playing country music with the Davis family, and going to yard sales.
On January 28, 1950, she married Brice E. Lilley, who died on December 16, 2004.
Surviving are a son, John (Jane) Lilley, of Claysville, 2 daughters, Ellen (George) Wyeth, of West Alexander and Wanda (Herman) Ritchea, of Elm Grove, WV; 6 brothers, Ferris, John, Archie, Clyde, James and Joseph Davis; 2 sisters, Elsie Schumacher and Shirley Stenger; 5 grandchildren, Lisa Scott, Angie Sim, Randy Ritchea, Christy McCartney and Jonathan Lilley; and 8 great-grandchildren, Coy and Tyler Scott, Justin and Georgia Sim, Nissa Ritchea, Clay McCartney, Kaylee McDonald and Brice Ritchea.
Deceased, in addition to her husband, are 2 brothers, Randall and Clarence Davis.
Friends will be received on Saturday, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., and Sunday, October 9, 2011, from 12-2 p.m., the time of services, in the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Ave, Washington, PA 15301, with Pastor Robert Schroeder officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery.
