Lavonna "Bonnie" Kathryn Irwin

Lavonna “Bonnie” Kathryn Irwin, 82, of Washington, died Sunday, October 9, 2011, in Washington County Health Center. She had been in declining health. She was born April 13, 1929, in Greene County, a daughter of Edgar and Kathryn Kent Kiger. Mrs. Irwin was a unit secretary at Washington Hospital for twenty-three years. She was a member of First Christian Church and enjoyed traveling and reading. On December 9, 1951, she married Walter E. Irwin, who survives. Also surviving are a son, David Irwin, of New York, NY; a daughter, Cynthia (Michael) Palombo, of McMurray; and two sisters, Virginia Roth and Audrey Comport, both of Waynesburg. Deceased is a brother, Robert Kiger. Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, where services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 12, 2011, with the Rev. Stephen Smythers officiating. Interment will follow in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville. The family suggests memorial contributions to First Christian Church, 615 E. Beau Street, Washington, PA 15301.
