Michael John Cronkhite, 56, of Washington, died Wednesday, October 12, 2011, in his residence following a lengthy illness.
He was born November 26, 1954, in Chicago, Illinois, a son of Virgil and Adeline Cronkhite.
Mr. Cronkhite was an Army veteran and served in the Vietnam War.
He was a truck driver and former Chicago police officer.
Mr. Cronkhite was a great father and enjoyed spending time with his wife, walking and hunting.
He coached youth baseball.
Mr. Cronkhite was Catholic by faith.
On August 3, 2010, he married Trudy Bennett, who survives.
Also surviving are a son, Michael (Lisa) Cronkhite, Jr. of Oaklawn, Illinois; a daughter, Amanda of Countryside, Illinois; and two grandchildren, Jake and Abigail.
A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, October 18th, in National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville.
