Gladys Marie Bazzoli, 92, of Washington, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 16, 2011, in Southmont of Presbyterian Senior Care. She was born May 18, 1919, in Washington, a daughter of the late William Arthur and Arizona Wise Blake.
Mrs. Bazzoli attended Washington Schools and worked at Betty Gays Store in downtown Washington. She loved volunteering at the Washington Hospital gift shop, and was a member of the Hospital Auxiliary. A lifetime member of the First Baptist Church of Washington, she served as a Deaconess and a Trustee. She was a member of the Circle of Concern, the Fidelity Class and Baptist Women United, where she once served as President.
Her late husband, Fred Bazzoli was called home to be with the Lord, on April 27, 1981.
Surviving are 2 sons, Larry (Peggy) Boardley, and Paul (Linda) Boardley, both of Washington; a brother, Raymond Wise, of Buffalo, NY; 6 grandchildren, Larry Boardley, William (Lynn) Boardley, Kevin (Alexandra) Boardley, Lyn (Tony) Trapuzzano, all of Washington; Leah Boardley, of Indiana, and Tim Boardley, of Hickory; and 5 great-grandchildren, Marissa, Daniel, Nathan, Olivia and Adalin Boardley.
Deceased, in addition to her parents, are a sister, Ruth Martin and a granddaughter, Lauren.
Friends and family will be received on Tuesday, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., in the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 395 East Maiden Street, Washington, PA 15301, where services will be held on Wednesday, October 19, 2011, at 2:00 p.m., with Rev. Steven Dunlap officiating.
Burial will follow in the Washington Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the First Baptist Church of Washington, 101 South College St. Washington, PA 15301.
