Walter W. Scott, 77, of Washington, died Monday, October 17, 2011, in McMurray Hills Manor.
He was born December 30, 1933, in Washington, a son of Walter A. and Mary E. Zelenka Scott.
From March 12, 1951, until his honorable discharge on February 26, 1954, Mr. Scott served in the Army. He was awarded the Army of Occupation Medal – Germany.
Mr. Scott worked in maintenance at Millcraft Industries for more than 20 years and also worked at the Senior Citizens Center and Green Thumb.
He was a life member of the following organizations, Edwin Scott Linton American Legion Post 175, VFW 927 Hawkins Post Home, Anawanna Hunting and Fishing Club, and the NRA.
Mr. Scott was a member of Immaculate Conception Church.
Surviving is a sister, Shirley Thompson of Washington.
Deceased are a sister, Mary L. Lindley, and a brother, Paul Scott.
Friends will be received Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m., in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where a Blessing Service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, October 21st. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery. Military rites will be accorded graveside by Edwin Scott Linton American Legion Post 175.
