Loving Wife and Mother Kathy Jo Stienstraw 47, of Canonsburg, PA, died on Friday, October 28, 2011, in her home surrounded by her loving family, following a courageous eight-year battle with breast cancer. She was born October 26, 1964, in Pittsburgh, a daughter of James and Theresa (Urbonick) Velicoff, of Cranberry Twp. On Sept. 10, 1988, she married James L. Stienstraw Jr., who survives. She was a graduate of North Allegheny High School in 1983 and Clarion University of PA in 1987. Mrs. Stienstraw was employed as the Sr. Treasury Analyst by Nova Chemicals, Inc. and formally employed by CBS/ Westinghouse Electric Corp. in Pittsburgh, Pa and NY, NY; Joy Technologies Corp. in Pittsburgh PA; and GNC in Pittsburgh PA, in their respective treasury/ finance departments. She was an active member of the Association for Financial Professionals (AFP), Pittsburgh Chapter (AFP), and Treasury Management Associations of Canada (TMAC). A loving wife and mother who loved to spend time with her children, she enjoyed watching her daughter cheerlead and tumble, and her son play baseball and hockey. She also enjoyed flower gardening, camping, golfing, ice-skating and other outside activities, sea shelling at the beach and traveling. Mrs. Stienstraw was a team mom and avid member of the Pittsburgh Pride All Stars. She also was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers and Penguins fan. Surviving in addition to her husband and parents are her daughter, Kasey Lea, and son, James L. Stienstraw lll, both at home, Mother-in-Law, Dolly Stienstraw (the late James L. Stienstraw Sr.) of Washington PA, Sisters: Lynn (Roy) Seneca of Mareton, NJ, Teri (Gary) Choban of Wexford, Jamie Codispot of Cranberry; brother, Andy Velicoff of Cranberry; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Linda (David) Konitzer of Two Rivers, WI, Debbie Riley of Washington, Mike Stienstraw Sr. of Claysville; and many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. Friends will be received Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Monday, October 31st, in St. Hilary Roman Catholic Church, Washington. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery.
