Doris Mae Douglas, 88, of Houston, went to be with the Lord on Monday, October 31, 2011.
She was born on April 28, 1923, in Meadowlands, a daughter of David and June Bedillion Carlisle.
A graduate of Trinity High School, she also graduated from Penn Commercial Business/Technical School.
Mrs. Douglas was a long-time member at First United Presbyterian Church in Houston, and had been a former Deacon there.
She enjoyed sewing and gardening.
On July 19, 1950, she married Ray Douglas, who died on February 6, 1977.
Surviving are 2 stepdaughters, Mary Sherwood, of Plantation, FL and Jean Taper, of Canonsburg, and she will be greatly missed by many nieces and nephews.
Deceased are 4 brothers, Kenneth, Andrew, Leslie N. and David Carlisle, and 4 sisters, Madge Horne, Lizzie Folkens, Letty Folkens and Bertha Carlisle.
Friends will be received on Thursday, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., in the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Ave., Washington, PA 15301, where services will be held on Friday, November 4, 2011, at 1:00 p.m., with Rev. Clarejean Haury officiating.
Burial will follow at Oak Spring Cemetery.
