Mary Alyce Adamson, 61, of Washington, died Monday, November 7, 2011, in her residence, following a lengthy illness.
She was born August 10, 1950, in Washington, a daughter of Robert Abrams and Mary Morais Abrams of Washington.
Mrs. Adamson graduated from Washington High School and West Liberty University and received her master’s degree and principal’s certification from California University.
A teacher for 28 years, she taught English and Social Studies at Western Area Career and Technology Center and was very dedicated to education.
Mrs. Adamson enjoyed dogs, her home, and spending time with family, especially her granddaughter. Moral values, integrity, respect and compassion were important to her.
Mrs. Adamson was a member of Christian Church of North America.
Surviving are her husband, David Scott Adamson; a daughter, Cigi Henderson (Chet), a brother, Robert Abrams Jr. (Debbie); a sister, Ramay Horner (Richard); and a granddaughter, Chessa Henderson, all of Washington.
Friends will be received Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, November 11th, with Rev. Rob Berk officiating. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery.
