David Plants, 62, of Burgettstown, died on Wednesday, November 9, 2011, in the Donnell House, following a 5-year illness.
He was born on July 18, 1949, in East Finley Township, a son of the late George W. and Mildred Hancher Plants.
Mr. Plants Attended McGuffey High School.
He had worked at the Seaboard Foundry, in Johnston, Rhode Island and also at Washington Mould as a mould maker.
A Steeler fan, he also enjoyed playing cards, hunting and fishing.
On November 7, 1966, he married Joan Hanning, who survives.
Also surviving are 2 sons, David J. Plants, of Washington and Laric (Jennifer) Plants, of Cumberland, RI; 2 daughters, Raymie Arroyo, of Burgettstown and Melanie (James) Wilson, of Johnston, RI; 3 brothers, George Plants, of Claysville, Julian Plants, of Washington and Rudy Plants, of Avella; 2 sisters, Mildred Moore, of Claysville and Patricia Plants, of Burgettstown; 9 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are 6 brothers, Dwane, Gerald, Grayson, Gaylord, Larry and Roger Plants.
Friends will be received in the William G. Neal Funeral Home, Ltd, 925 Allison Ave., Washington, PA 15301, on Friday, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., the time of services, with the Rev. George Plants officiating.
